I was quite disappointed to see so much of my Yogscast work being reposted on Instagram without any credit or links back to the original source! This is a huge no-no. There are also lots of other Yogs artists, such as ReiuShanra / Hostel / ThomBird / AJ Hateley, to name a few, whose work has been posted without any credit.
It’s not fair that reposters are getting all the ‘attention’ for other people’s hard work. You just don’t do it! (Also spotted someone who put their watermark over one of my doodles. Do they not realise that’s art theft?!)
I have nothing wrong with my work being reposted on Instagram or any other site as long as my name has been credited or there is a link back to the original source.
I recommend ALL artists to see if they can find their work under the #yogscast tag and ask for credit / request it gets deleted. I believe you can even contact Instagram to get these illustrations removed if need be.
If this continues I’m afraid i’ll have to start using watermarks on all my illustrations. Which would suck for all of us!
Sorry to rant guys but I had to say something because literally every single piece of yogs art on that site has zero credit!
Artists unite & get the credit you guys deserve. :3
